Default 6th Gen (2002) H22 legality question

For anyone who has done this swap successfully, have you come across any legality issues? I mean with emissions or whatever else... H22 being from 2001 or earlier and the accord being from 2002....
Thanks

IF you can attach all the OBD2 pieces to the H22 (and they work properly), It would certainly pass in the little state of Rouge Island. The emissions part of the inspection proceedure involves no more than scanning (and recording for certification) that the OBD2 system is functioning properly. It matters little what this system is attached to, just what's coming out the pipe.

Oh snap.

As mentioned before it depends heavily on your area. Some states do not allow an older motor in a newer car (Cali being one of them) and some do not allow them if they don't have VIN plates, etc.

In VA it really doesn't matter but pretty much anything aftermarket on your car is illegal, so while you won't get dinged for emissions, you can get dinged for not having the original motor.

Thanks, thats exactly what I thought, I had looked into it a little and in Ontario it goes the same.. same or newer models are permitted, but not older...
So any suggestions on a swap of 02 or higher without needing to go the "swap the sub frame" route?
Turbo a good idea at 180,000Km in an auto?
Im just trying to choose a path, had this car now for 6 years and I can come to a decision..
Thanks again!

You could go K series, they're newer I am not sure if there is a mounting kit available, but you could fab one up.

I've run my F22b2 for two years and 32,000 miles on turbo boost.
I actually tried it on a lark; since the original engine had 215,000 miles on it (and IF it lunched I had a reman sitting downstairs).
Much to my surprise, it's held together - box/stock motor - go figure...

I should offer a crevat (however)
It never sees boost of idle - I use it as a hyway cruiser, knocking off unsuspecting Altima drivers and I've limited it to about 8 pounds boost.

Id assume that with the quality you'll find in most Honda engines, I should be able to run it at low boost and see another couple years out of my motor..
THnaks again guys!
