I've owned a lude since Nov 2000. its the car that made me a career mechanic, and a week ago it dissappeared. cops recovered it 50 miles away in the woods...no motor, trans, wheels, intake, header, ecu, stereo, radiator, subframe, cut harness and they broke other dumb **** just to [freak] me worse. minimum coverage = total loss. It's time to move on, so im gonna rebuild it to sell it and start looking for a S14 or 300zx TT. ill need a turbo and rwd to get over the lude...i feel like i just lost a child. that car meant everything to me.

WARNING for everyone - my ignition switch is tore up inside, the key only works if i jiggle hard while turning. no evidence of hotwiring, column covers are in place and the mileage is way up so it probably wasnt towed. This leads me to believe they drilled or jammed a different key in there and got it to start. no broken glass = slimjim. it was locked for sure.

SO GET AN ALARM, MAKE A KILLSWITCH, USE THE CLUB, etc...for the love of christ dont let this happen to you cuz it [freak]ing sucks. [freak]ing worthless scum *** [freak]ing theives were too lazy to get a job and earn their own damn parts so they messed up my life like it was nothing. now i work 8a-10p 6 days a week...*********. what goes around comes around mother[freak]ers

 

So sorry to hear of your loss, my worst fear is to walk outside and find my car missing. Hopefully like you said, what goes around comes around (hopefully tenfold).
If you don't mind me asking, where was it stolen from? Your home?

Oh and PS, did you have an alarm?
I am planning on doing an alarm and fuel cutoff switch...

btw i painted the motor/trans flat aluminum color. it will look recent - but its starting to flake off right above the header. the flat pgmfi stamp on top of the IM has a dent in front, wires were new blue NGKs, the plug cover (across VC) has a weird looking chunk missing from the middle of it, and it has the TB coolant bypass done.....if you come across it, call the cops or call me (610-766-1934) anything, PLEASE!

 

taken from my apt building lot - theres surveillance on all sides but mine. i was called into work that day, otherwise i woulda been home when it happened.

Man no problem, I would be devastated too. I am in the same situation as you as far as minimum insurance and having to work for everything I have. I would hope someone else would be just as helpful if I was in the same situation. It would actually be worse for me because the Lude is my ONLY vehicle so I would most likely lose my job...

Some thieves raped my civic for my seats,engine/trans ,stereo and cd case a couple years ago.....no alarm but i had two clubs

I wanted to tell you that i deeply feel for your loss and hope that the sun will come out for you some time soon, and for the (expletive) sons of (expletive) that stole your car, they probably do that crap for a living and it wont be long for the boomerang of karma comes back and knocks them off a cliff... On a other note I had a comment on my current situation in my life, I just got fired from my job about 9 miles from my place due to things slowing down in construction and not having any work, It's not losing my job that really gets to me because they treated me like dog doo doo but i just ignored them cause i did make good money but the cards fell where they did and i have a wife and son too support with 2 birthdays coming up and christmas also, So i got managed to get a lower paying job 50 miles away, I just ended up out of pure necessicty had to buy 94 red civic wrecked in front and back and this beat up piece of (expletive) is the only thing holding my finiances together by getting me to work and back a 100 miles a day. I want to thanks all the techs and fellow honda lovers for their help with their info because we all are here to help each other keep on keeping on like joe dirt says.

Very sorry for your loss man. I can't even imagine being in your situation. It's amazing how much a vehicle can mean to some of us, and it really is like losing a child when something like this happens. To even think that a person would have
the audacity to take something of yours and do such a thing to it, understandably makes you sick and filled with anger. I hope for a quick and healing recovery for your loss.

wow...thats gotta be painful. i was thinking about what that would be like before the cops found mine. if i never got closure i would think about it every day for the restof my life. my situation could be much worse for sure!

Thankyou everyone for your sympathy and support and help looking online, it really means a lot to me...naturally i keep thinking everyones out to get me after this..its nice to know people care.

its the money i lost that bothers me most. i look up cars for sale online (to cope i guess) and then i realize itll be years till i have another toy. im in debt and it cost me $450 just to get the car back from the towers!! 325 tow fee + 40 per day and they didnt even tell me it was there till 3 days later. the system is cruel

**** happens, ill get past it...it could be always be worse. again, thank you everyone who took the time to post your thoughts and look for my parts...we know the risks when we mod cars like this, but its a little easier when we all look out for each other. for everyone

btw ill be parting the car out...koni yellows, HR race, installed ES bushings, ST swaybars, 4bidden shifter, momo ****, test pipe and old greddy catback are the only aftermarket parts left....i have a **** ton of stock parts if anyone needs something let me know

If you want a '99 I'll pay you $500 to steal mine though, I have no deductible. I'd actually be happy as a pig in a pile of crap if that happened to mine. It brings up a point though, look into full coverage guys. I was amazed that for $200 more a year over my "minimum coverage" on a Mitsu 3000GT I got full coverage on the Lude. So needless to say I don't care about an alarm, I'll be up $3500 if it gets stolen.
