LOL.

Don't even bother with that bike...I'm glad that I was talked out of getting that overpriced bike.

Just picked up the Suzuki Gs500...this baby may be ugly but I like it.

Yeah for that price, you could just get a beater bike....as long as it runs and no problems, you should do fine.

Dont do it, I had nothing but problems with my 08 250. Just save up some more money and get something else. I bought the bike and everytime I took it out for a ride all of a sudden the bike just died and I had to get someone to come pick me up in a truck with a trailer. It was still under warranty so I took it to a Kawasaki dealer and they had it for 4 days and said that everything was fine, and low and behold when I picked it up and took it out it shut off for no reason again. Whilel it was at the dealership they claimed it was a faulty gas cap and replaced it, but it fixed nothing. The owner of the dealership also had a 250 with the same problem and they claimed that Kawasaki doesnt know what the problem is. I called the Kawasaki customer service number and talked to them and they said bring it back to the dealership.

Long story short I had enough with them trying to fix the problem and got rid of it for a 2009 R6S and it was the best decision I made. I was tired of them telling me the same **** and nothing was getting resolved.

If it makes you feel any better, they increased the price almost across the line with every manufacturer/model.

I should have bought one of those damn things when they first came out. A local dealer had a '08 trade in with a pipe, jet kit, and cowl, for $3400 6 months ago. WTF man.

My cousin just recently wiped out on his 08 250r because of the same problem as you. Every time he took it in to see what's up with the bike, the dealership would always give a lame excuse that there was nothing wrong with the bike. On the way to school one day, he was in mid turn when suddenly the bike shut off and then proceded to eat pavement.

Every 2009 bike is gonna be more expensive and the 250 will still be the best bang for the buck!

dont do it!! as previously stated, all the bikes are going to be more expensive than last year, plus dealer markup is another 7-1000 bucks. spend the money on something else. you'd get bored with that thing in 2 months anyway. i almost bought one, and i'm quite glad i didn't.

Damn that sucks, I wonder why Kawasaki hasnt looked more into the issue. For me it got to the point that the 250 wasnt fun anymore and was way to dangerous to ride. Everytime I took it out I knew it was going to shut off, and I didnt want to take that risk riding in traffic or anything. I had a few close calls, and that was enough for me to quit while I was ahead and get something else.

I have never heard of this happening... You sure your friends know what they are doing on a bike?

I guess I got a bad apple or something, because mine gave me nothing but problems. Since I got rid of it and got the 09 R6S I have had no issues what so ever.

Nothing like the sound of carburetor noises.

I'm glad I didn't end up picking one up....the sound of that motor is annoying.

250 sounds way too slow. I'm talking about daily riding, not twisties since chicago has none.

my 500 seems just about fine and I would think the 250 lacks any guts.

my throttle seems to lag a second, maybe my cables need adjustment, or maybe it really lacks the instant power.
