Need a New Clutch!!! Any aftermarket recommendations?
I have searched and searched and searched through the forum. I was looking to see what company makes a good clutch since I obviously need a new one. I was wondering if anyone had any ideas. Thanks quite much in advance.
How much power are you putting down?
If you are NA, I would just go with the Exedy $120 shipped special off Ebay. Proven clutch.

is the car stock or close to stock? If so, I recommend grabbing an AutoZone replacement. Comes with a lifetime warranty. But do yourself a favor if you choose this route. First, look up the part number yourself. Those guys at Autozone don't know a hose clamp from a fuel injector.
personaly i lovelovelovelovelove my ACT 6 puck and 8lbs fly wheel combo. execpt when in heavy traffic then it sucks *****. and now that no power steering that sucks to trying to move from stoped when the wheel is hard to move and your clutch is either IN or OUT lol.
dont ever buy an autozone one. its only a 1 year or 3 year warrenty and yeah even though you basic get free clutchs iv gone threw like 3 of them in a year and had my act for over 2 and its prob half life. the last autozone replacemnt clutch litteraly blew part in 3 days there JUNK.
but what ever brand you choose. make sure its a good company not some fly buy night brand. youll regret it if you dont good luck!!

I wound up gettin that Exedy Clutch off E-bay. So When I get it and put it in I will see how it goes. :D Thanks for the help guys
I liked my ACT until the pressure plate spring cracked.
I liked the Centerforce "dual friction" clutch, a lot. So much, that I almost would have bought another one even though the clutch cover came apart and put a hole in my tranny case and really pissed me off.
I have a Clutchmasters FX200 now and it's good, so far...

im a fan of the exedy stage 2. i use it in my daily driver and its not too bad. it has damping springs and its "3 puck" style. Ive had mine for almost 5 years now and its still running strong. I wil be replacing mine soon with the exact same because i plan on adding a fidanza flywheel. Great clutch!

If you aren't running alot of power, I would stay with an OEM unit. I only say this because after replacing a OEM Exedy after 2 years of abuse, I tried the Competition Clutch stage 2. It lasted about 2 months. Maybe I got a bad one and I will say that even though the unit was just out of warranty, CC still replaced it for me. Great customer service is a big thing these days and I was also helped out by JJ Spec Racing whom I bought it from. I have a pretty much stock H22 and the stage 2 was a little harsh engaging so I now have a stock Honda setup. I like the smooth engagement alot better and knowing that my transmission and axles are not taking quite as much abuse as before.
