I was getting groceries, and went to shut the door and the door slammed and would not latch. I have tried freeing the latch, with no luck. I was wondering if anyone had any ideas or fixes?

 

We are talking about a door and not a hatch lock correct?

 

did the door even close all the way. to me it kinda sounds like the locking mechanism was all ready engaged. the part that im talking about is the white part on the door itself right near the latch. did you try unlocking the door and lifting up the handle to release the locking mechanism.

 

Yeah, I tried unlocking the door and opening it, no luck. It just slammed, and bounced back off.
