**My 1st Build** ej1-Shell-e
So i bought this car excatly a month ago at an unbeatable price with all the goods on it. I started the stripping down process that following weekend. My goal for this car was to get it back to super stock then throw goodies on it. This will be my L.A. to Vegas driving machine. So A lilttle background on myself and cars.
I've had about 7 Cars in total..I currently own 3.
96 Cypress Green ej8
00 Milano Red ej8
91 Primed DA Integra
94 Toyota Camry Coupe (Kinda Rare)
93 Brown DB1 Integra
07 Graphite Gray Honda Accord Lx
94 Civic Ex ABS coupe (Current Build)
I still own the db1, the 07 accord and the 94 abs civic, which is what this thread is made for.
I've been inspired by all of these threads on here to do my own. I've actually always wanted to get a shell and build it up from stratch with OEM Parts but i couldnt find a shell in the right price range but this car was a semi shell. Has a D16Y8 Tranny and Short block in it.
1. The car when i got it was riced out a lil much, but it didnt bother me because i had intentions on taking everything off of it, So here's what i got done so far in the first week i had it.

Originally Tahiti Green?

Has a Nice Drop

Took the flat off to check on things.
Put The Rim Back On this Morning

How the motor sat when i got it, still sits kinda the same, minus some wires.

So i covered up things for a nice washing

After Wash, and that's my Integra in the background.

So About two weeks ago i really got underway with stripping the interior of the car down. After taking things apart i started noticing all kinds of wire hacks and shitty wire splicing jobs..i just scratched my head and just took all of that junk out. I got the carpet out and the integra seats..which gave me the hardest time to get out because the previous owner hacked into them...he drilled into the railing to make the seats fit, it messed up things alot more though..

I couldnt for the life of me get the drivers seats out, i really had to take to town at it, and eventually like two days later i got it out. Now both seats are up for sell.

Bonus Pics: the Inside of the rear panel where it was welded shut over the molding area. U can see the spot welding points...hmm, pain in the butt.

Hmmm, what's that right there? oh crap..it's an ECU..It's damn near as big as a Playstation ONE.

So 2 weeks ago my friends, I tried not to let the rain take away a days worth of work. I officially got the seat out two nights before that and with that came out the carpet. So unfortunately when i lifted up the carpet i saw a ton of misguided wires. So Me being the curious type (no pun intended) I tried to follow the wire to and fro. Here's some shots of how that ended up.
All this, was for the stereo, amps, box...ran from the Battery all the way to the trunk...

So i ripped all the surrounding wires out and i tied the red one down temporarily because i didnt wanna take the unit out of the bay quite yet until i started doing the tuck. So After i did that i decided to take out both sound deadening areas, That went well, it's still not clean enough for my liking but it's getting there. Here's a couple pics of what things are currently looking like and how i got the deadening stuff off without using dry ice.

So when i finished the Interior i decided to go inside the house it started sprinkling again so i was like ill call it a day. Until i had this idea i wanted to try something, just to be sure the molding we welded tight..I started hacking at the end of the molding area...to my luck...IT STARTED COMING OFF, So i kept at it and got it all off...HOW INTERESTING! i know right. Now i dont have to pay a body shop 500+ to do it for me. AWESOME
I SEARCHED AND SEARCHED ON HONDA TECH ABOUT THIS, ASKING IF THE WELDS COUOLD BE TAKEN OFF, ONLY ANSWERS I GOT WERE, NO AND, MAYBE IF YOU TOOK IT TO A WELDING SHOP. IM CONTENT THAT THE SEARCH BUTTON SUCKS. Anyways
For future referrence I just used a needle nose plier and hammers it from the edge of the molding area on the door and eventually all the welds came off..you gotta hit it pretty hard..But it's do-able..Dont pay the shop when you dont have to.

Looks like orange peel to me

So i bought the car knowing it had been hit on the side and was told it had gotten fixed. Yea it got fixed, not 100% but it was fixed i guess you could say. I wanted to see the damage so i took the fenders off just to see what i was dealing with..

Thanks bro.
Ok so here are how things sat a few nights ago. A couple Updated Pics of the Bay and the Body. A couple pics of things i need some info on.

So I'm going to be taking out the motor to get it prepped and Painted/Wire tuckes. I'll be ordering a hoist for rent from a shop in a couple weeks. Until then im taking out all of the harness' in the bay.

Ok, So im kinda fustrated everytime i look into the bay, but im heavily inspired still. But to be honest although it looks like sh*t and things are uneven, imma work my best to get things OEM Factory. So here are a few pics of the things that annoy my eyes.
Either this frame part isnt long enough to reach the radiator support or the radiator support is short. I got my money on the fact that the previous owner did a hack job on the frame of the bay, so it's uneven. First a pic of the passenger side and then one of the drivers side. Although the driver side has been horribly drilled the hll outta tune, you can tell it's length is legit so i'm going to home depot and getting some thin sheet metal and weld it into place over the hack job, as for the passenger side im going to have to get a longer one and do the same to it. Sighs, these guys didnt know what they were doing, but im sure the intetion was good.

The Radiator support is ****, this thing is getting tossed...sighs, this is gonna take a while..

Ok, I work for the city of Los Angeles and Fortunately we had Columbus day off. What this means is, i had free time after class to work on Shell-e (Shelly). So i popped the hood as i always do and got to chopping things down and pulling crap off. I call this me being casually destructive.
After i went to chopping and blocking i lost my freakin 10mm socket under the battery tray. This took about 45 mins to get out. I had to figure out how to bypass all the wires to get under it. I had a brilliant idea, shouldv'e taken a picture of it but i didn't. I used all my ratchet extensions like 3 of them made the length longer by adding alot of electrical tape taped on the reverse side so i could stick it under the battery plate and get the socket stuck onto the tape.
The tape method barely worked until i just kinda punched and jammed the taped end into the socket hole itself and got it back. It's a shame i only have one 10mm socket..i need to swing by harbor freight to get some more, reliable and cheap. Anywho, after i got my socket back..I went to town on the radiator support...Yea i really did take this thing off..i felt bad after but it had to go..it was crappy.
Here's a couple pics of how she sits now. In two weeks she'll be in the shop getting a new radiator support and frame tips welded on into place. When she's home i'll start putting the motor back together to get this thing running. Im going to sell the d16y8 btw, i have another heart going into her. A new powerplant with mounts and what not, this will be fun..muahhahaha..Can't wait to post that up. Anywho, PICS!:
1. Ok so the side of the frame here used to be all wavy and what not, i went to town on that can got it back into straight formation. I had to in order for the hood to sit flush with the fenders.

2. Radiator support, Radiator, Hood latch and Headlights all came off as one. It was a hacking job but the welds were practically worn out so i just had to tussle with it for a while, and once i got the 10mm back it was all so easy again.

3. Took the battery out (a while back). I took snaps of this so you could kinda see the crappy welding job..But i guess it's all with good intentions, still lines up straight, which is was matters most. My intention is to put the battery in either the rear seat area or in the trunk, Im rolling with one of those slim battery's.

4. Im gonna just simple green this whole area and get it sparkling again.

5. Couple more shots of the rad ousted.

6. Yea so here's the left over crap..

7. Bonus pic of this logo i made for my pics on Adobe...I'll be stamping the rest of these like this.

Ok, So that's how the car sits as of today, Tuesday. The front passenger side lower frame is rusted, I'm wondering how much of a problem it would be to get the new oem rad support welded onto that area, or will they tell me they won't do it.
Anyone on honda-tech in the L.A. area know how to weld a support on? Hit me up please. Serious about this. I dont have a welder machine.

Wasssup Guys, thanks for dropping in. I appreciate the jesters and whatnot. Thanks, be sure to check back in, as this will be a frequently updated thread. And of course, It will be done right...People are watching now..lol

Damn bro, ur paint job looked better than this one does. lol It's a nice color but i think seeing is messed up so badly makes me not like it even if i do get it fresh.
Color is gonna be either Habenaro Red, Green Tea Metallic w/ Pearl or Milano Red shiny as hell.

Don't do habinero red... it's the new fad and every other car that comes up seems to be that color. Get something fresh and clean that doesn't stand out so much to grab attention, but something that looks clean as hell up close in person.
Yea im starting to notice that unfortunate fad because it's actually a different shade of my favorite color..whatever, people like to follow. I dont care much for the color, as much as i do the drivability. Truth is, even if it was primed or just flat black, i'd be happy with that. But im leaning more towards green tea metallic.
More updates to come, I got a radiator support on its way. A Mig welding machine, floor jacks, jack stands and some other things. Im going to do some extensive engine bay cleaning. Get all that gunk and crap out of the bay area (OAKLAND!).
I scrubbed the block and tranny, also get some top dead centering to do.
