Default FV-QR

They're chassis numbers, it depends what kind of EF or what kind of ED your talking about.

Except the ED6 wasn't just marketed in the US.

Right.

my ed6 is CDM.

In fact...... The Canadian cars were slick in the sense that the floorpans are all the same and you can put 89 seats directly into a 91 w/o the seat pan swap....

ha yeah you can still motor swaps and all that, haha ED is just the chassis letters, then the number following is the car that it is. example: EF9 JDM SiR civic hatch. and ED6 canadian model STD hatch and like the EF8 the JDM SiR crx.

ED6 does not mean your car is CDM either. My ED6 is USDM for sure. They're just chassis designations, they don't really say anything about location. I remember seeing a complete list somewhere but they had "EE" in Europe along with over here(Wagons) and I believe some EF's in Europe too. Don't quote me on that though because it's been awhile.

I don't think anyone was saying ed6 was the code for CDM. I just said mine happened to be Canadian.

I was referring to classdork987654's statement; as it seems he's assuming he has a CDM vehicle because yours is CDM with the ED6 chassis code.

Actually the first number of the VIN indicates where is was built:

1-4= USA
2= Canada
3 = Mexico

If anyone actually cares to decode their vin: http://hondaswap.com/general-t...29059/

Just because your car was made in Japan doesn't make it a JDM model though. The JDM/USDM/etc. is based on the market it was sold in which is where the ED/EE/EF comes into play. As far as I can remember, all CRX's were made in Japan.

Both of mine the first digit is J.

J means it was made in Japan.

Same here; I had two 88 CRX's and currently 88 Civic Std.

As far as I know, all the 88's were made in Japan. I can't confirm this though but maybe the stamped "box" rear LCA is a giveaway?
