Default 2 inch drop too much??

i'm planning on getting TEIN coilovers before this winter...but being that they run for a grand, until i get the money, i'll have to do something else...and i ran across a friend who is selling his neuspeed springs that drop 2 inches, for 90 bucks, b/c the store he bought them from sent him the wrong ones...i figure why not? but a few things concern me...am i going to rub the wheel well regularly? i've also ordered a greddy SP exhaust which is on the way and pretty soon i'll be getting the stock body kit...how bad and how often would they scrape the ground? basically for my situation, i'm wondering if this is worth it...

I have the H&R race springs which are basically the same as the neuspeeds. I also have a Greddy SP on my 4G. I have never scraped it on the ground and I have only scraped the front a couple of times when I wasn't paying attention while leaving a parking lot.

2" is about the highest drop that you can go with the Prelude w/o compromising the suspension geometry too much.

you'll be fine. i had those springs on my 95 lude with a tanabe hyper medalion that hangs even lower than the SP and it was fine.

For a 5th gen a 2" drop is about the maximum without clearance issues. We tried the lower perch setting with my Koni shocks up front and that was not very good at all-scrape city. I have the Neuspeed Sport springs and the ride height is great even during hard cornering on the track at Watkins Glen or Pocono. I have NO rub even with Camber kits on all 4 corners. Remember to remove the plastic nubs on the rear bumper cover near the bolt at the point where the cover meets the lip.
Personally, I like the NBeuspeed Sport/Koni setup and see no reason to use coilovers-but it is your choice. Something to consider for street/track is that SCCA has a rule about ride height-the lowest is 5" to the underside of the rocker pans; that is really low and jacking the car up gets interesting. Just my experience.

2inch shouldn't be a problem less your running tires like 225. They will rub in the back. I had my khumos bust out like that. That was also with stock set up tho..

I'm 2.5 in. in front, and 2.25 in rear - no problems, just get right offset wheel.

You might want to fix your camber too.

I just bought a H&R 2 Front 1.8 rear springs for my car. So getting a camber kit is unecessary? you don't have tire wear? Also after I drop my car do i need to get an alighnment or anything?

Make sure you don't need camber correction or alignment. Otherwise you will lose traction and performance.

I havent adjusted my camber because I rotate, alignment and just maintain.

i have the same setup on my 98 sh. when i put mine on, i could tell that the camber was bad, it was seriously like / \. i was to lazy to buy a camber kit, then i took a trip up north and my front left tire blew out, took it off and noticed how the corner was eaten through becuz of the camber bein off.
