Del Sol Autox Combo?
So I've been starting to regularly autox my car and sometime between now and next spring be getting new wheels and tires for my car, and i'm hoping someone who is a bit more knowledgable in this area can confirm if i'm looking at a good combo for my 93' del sol s
15x7 Rota Slips (4x100, +40/45 offset?)
Falken Azenis RT-615 205/50R15
btw still used as a DD, its my only car lol.

That combo is Great. I've auto-x with that exact setup for a whole season in my eg coupe in the street tire class.(Tires don't have good tradwear at all for a daily though) Also, my buddy who goes regularly with me has some 205/50 falken 912s on his del sol on 15x7 +40 dr-28s, so rubbing isn't a problem (that's his daily also)
actually how about 15x7.5? I can get those easier and i think they would fit the tires better. but you think i'll have problems with rubbing?

that width will be stretching the tires a bit. not my choice for performance driving. go 215 wide on those wheels. only real rubbing problem with these tire/wheel combos is if you ride around or try to race real low. the tire's aren't gonna rub the front and back of the fender and at full lock they'll scrub the inside of the fender well a bit.

That's bad advice. There are no really sticky tires available in 215/xx-15 sizes. So you're telling him to use crappy tires.
Remember, the biggest determinant BY FAR of how well a tire grips is its design, as reflected in its compound, tread pattern, etc. If you want better grip, the easiest way to do that is to get better, stickier tires, not wider tires. If you get sticky tires and you're doing well enough in competition that you're looking for every hundredth of a second, then you probably want to get R compound autocross tires (like the Hoosier A6) in wider sizes. Until then, your best choice is to get supersticky tires and not worry too much about size.
For autocross, the 205/50-15 Falken Azenis RT-615 on 15x6.5 or 15x7 rims is a great setup. Other 205/50-15 tires that are also excellent for autocross, and can be used on 15x6.5 or 15x7 rims, are the Kumho Ecsta XS and the Toyo R1R.

so the 7.5 wide is a bad idea i guess. I can probably get the rims in 15x7, but ill probably have to use hubcentric rings to fit them on, do those affect anything or are they ok to use if i have to?

The need for hubcentric rings has nothing to do with the width of the wheels. (And yes, 15x7 is a better fitment for your car.)
Hubcentric rings are needed when you get wheels whose center bore (the big hole in the very center of the wheel) is bigger than the hub on your car that the wheels fit over. Hubcentric rings are okay to use, but it's even better if you can find wheels whose center bore is exactly the size of your hubs, so you don't need the rings.

i know its not about the width of the wheels, i'm just saying i'm not sure if i can find the 15x7's in a 56.1mm hub bore, but i'll have to check further into it. thanks for the info though.
