I replaced my clutch on a L3 clutch cable tranny and need to know how much to adjust it. Do you want to be able to move the clutch arm on the tranny easily (freeplay)? When I adjust to get freeplay on the clutch arm, I get alot of freeplay on the pedal. I adjusted with about 1in of freeplay on the pedal then the pedal starts to get stiff. The clutch starts to engage about 1/4 travel from all the way pressed down. Does this sound good?

spin the adjustment **** down until you can pull the cable up about 1/8in away from the bracket on the tranny.
