Default 1998-1999 accord transmission problem.

Hey guys i have an automatic accord, and i have a problem with the transmission.
Everytime it shifts from 1st gear to second gear, it gets stuck for like 2 seconds.

Anyone else have this problem??

Thanks

Always do a good transmission fluid flush prior to condeming the tranny, the new fluid may clean out some junk.

nah, he shouldn't even waste his time, those things are KNOWN for failure. When they open it up they will most likely find

1. clogged internal filter
2. toasted clutch packs

I had the same prob on my 96 ex ... my method fixed it and saved me from rebuilding. Do this 3 times and on the third time use Royal purple max ATF .. works like a charm. All you have is a sticky shift valve.

1. Go to walmart
2. Buy TransX automatic transmission treatment (blue can) and two quarts of valvoline tranny fluid

3. Go to Lowe's

4. Buy Liquivac ( only 40 bucks and it kicks ***)

Now suck out the liquid from the tranny using liquivac and then funnel in 1 quart and the bottle of transX

Then drive the car to a Jiffy Lube and deploy the finger.

You saved yourself 200$ (Check tranny fluid and fill as needed with the second quart - probably will need it)

Repeat as needed until the liquid is pink after driving for a week
