Bought my first real bike
So after reading and learning for almost two years, i finally bought a bike. ive Ridden dirt for many years, and have experience with CB125's and Cb400's.
i found a SV650 thats been dropped a few times due to it being from NYC, it needs some carb work...but has new tires, a SM2 bar and jardine exhuast. ibought it for a STEAL!! I am so very excited and am currently looking to get MSFGEARINSURANCE out of the way over the winter so im ready to ride in the spring.
Im going to rebuild the bike to some extent suspension and cosmetic wise. but i have a few random questions:
1- i want to use a Monster seat and get rid of the bumble bee tail on the SV, i was wondering if anyone knows the dimensions to the stock monster seat. i want to know if it will fit over my stock subframe with some modding to it?
2- any carb cleaning DIY threads?
3- for Gear thats on sale, other than NEWENOUGH.com where else should i look?
thanks in advace and ill post pictures shortly

sportbiketrackgear and craigslist are also FTW for cheap gear.
i forget exactly how the carbs are on a 1st gen SV but in general you remove em, remove the seals and rubber stuff in em, soak em in simple green overnight, rinse, dry, re-install w/ new gaskets etc.

make sure to join svrider and do research there before making any major decisions on the bike
