I just bought a 1994 prelude si that originally had a 2.3 auto and sombody did a h22a swap with 5 speed but the dealer i got it from does not know what it came out of and Honda says there is no way to id what it came out of (i guess they put a vin on the motor for no reason) there has got to be a way to find out what it came out of. please sombody help befor i have to replace any parts

 

The H22a came from the JDM prelude, there should be a stamping on the head above the exhaust manifold telling you when it was built. The JDM engines also did not have a vin plate on them

 

p13 hf-1 is the only markings i see there

 

This is what you are looking for, to the left of the P13 stamping

 

is it the number stamped in the middle of the middle circle

 

yup, you can't see it well, but mine says 94
