Default my first hatch

1100 bucks 91 civc 5spd with AC 180,000 interior is perfect two very small rust spots. Going to be my DD has EK front seats i had to remount them fixed the map light sensor needs a throw out bearing. Few other small things need to be fixed nothing major or costly.

Future plans MPFI si cam, si tranny with hf 5th gear I already have out my crx and the computer and harness. Center console, DA radiator, get rid of the ugly steering wheel, tint the windows, intake, header, exhaust front and rear strut bars. Looking at lowering springs dont want to spend the money on coilovers maybe skunk 2s or sportlines with KYBs any suggestions. Maybe later down the road a Z6 head swap and crx dash conversion. The hood doesnt fit it hangs over the headlights about a inch and a half and i cant move it back any futher it will hit the wiper arms. But its not lined up with the top of the fender at the base of the windshield anybody looks like it could move back about a inch anybody know why maybe a sir hood?

The rims in the pics are 16 inch enkeis I might paint them bronze havent decided yet. Replaced the chassis ground wire and missing seat belt buckle today. Also took apart the lock assembly two cylinders needs to be replaced and the tail pipe after the muffler needs to be replaced I might just order a catback. Ordered a new valve cover gasket and spark plug grommets theres oil on the plugs from the leaking grommets need to order a throw out bearing and distributor o ring.

Thanks I agree as soon as I get it inspected Im lowering it. Im going with lowering springs skunk2 or sportlines. Coilovers are to expensive and im not going the ebay coilover route.

agreed, I always get ebay coilovers but I like a hard ride. One day I'll be too old and fat for it and I'll get more expensive suspension lol.... most people don't like them.

bro, if your going to build your ride it's an investment. buy some agx-adjustable shocks, skunk2 coilovers or springs, skunk2 front camber kit, and generic rear camber kit. you'll be solid and doing it right.

The hood is carbonfiber but it doesnt fit right. I havent looked into it yet but the hood seems to long hopefully I can just refit it. Today I made a battery tie down out of some scrap metal and off thread rod painted it flat black. Pulled out about 30 feet of speaker wire out mostly just electrical taped together. Found a couple bad connections explains why the rear speakers arent working so Im going to run all new wire. Put in some clarion 6.5 I had laying around up front so both front speakers are working again.

Took apart the door lock cylinder last night found out why it wouldnt unlock.

If you look at where my finger is pointing you can see where its bent a piece under that broke and was pushing the last pin down. You couldnt insert the key all the way becuse the pin couldnt move. I bent the piece back and it works but i ordered a new cylinder assembly for 18 bucks anyway just to be safe.

If you are going to lower it you probably do not deed the adjustable shocks. Depending on the driving you are goind to do DD RR AutoX a good set of koni non-adj will do you just fine. For beginner drivers the adjustability will confuse and possibly hurt your progress. If its a daily driver you definatly don't need them.

Congrats on the hatch!!! Good Luck!

I think your right on the sedan hood checked the faq and they do have a different part number so I might have a hood for sale. Lowering it and exhaust are the two first things im doing after i get it inspected but first I want to pull the tranny to replace the throw out bearing and maybe the clutch and add a aluminum flywheel. Im going to keep it as my dd good coilovers are to exspensive so im looking into lowering springs now.

Looked at my spare tranny today its a 88 si 21 spline. Having a hard time finding a aluminum flywheel that will work with the 21 spline.I found a unorthodox and stillen but they are pricey. Are the final drives interchangeable? My hatch is a 91 dx 5spd I know 1st-5th gears are the same. So if I swap in the 88 final drive I should be able to use a 91 flywheel.

Just wanted to say thanks for the compliments advice and info.

Decided to stay with the dx 5spd tranny since its going to be my dd. Pulled it saturday inspected and cleaned everything looks good except for the throwout bearing it doesnt spin freely and makes a grinding noise. So i ordered a fidanza flywheel and exedy replacement clutch kit I also replaced the valve cover gasket.
