Default Tanabe, Tein, Spoon, Zeal, Showa.. which is best?

Ok if you had some cash, not all the money in the world, what set up would you get? I'm really interested in real honest replies here so please try to keep it accurate as to what you would get if you could afford it. Also keep in mind that the regular setups (Tein, Zeal, etc.) would probably need increased spring rates and pillow ball mounts.. increasing the cost.

If i had the money i would go for the Ohlins coil over kit, a freind of mine had it in his JDm Integra Si ( with ITR rear LCAs) and it was possibly the best suspension set up i have experienced. My cousin has the Tanabe Sustec Pro kit in his car and its also a very good set up but not quite as good as the Ohlins

tein EDFC (electronic damping force control) its in-car adjustable

but more realistically, konis and ground controls.

na?

I wanted to vote for Spoon but then you have listed Showa right under it.... So what exactly am I suppose to do since you don't have Mugen listed too?

Heheh..no matter..

based on my experience..for my mostly street duty car and some awesome track times....I vote for Spoon Sports SHOWA threaded body coilovers!

Zeal super function is my choice if I had a major amount of cash.

but I dont, so I run Koni/GC and I still kickass at autox and daily driving is pure heaven with such a light car... 2000 lb CX / GSR hybrid

ohlins SUCK when compared to PENSKE, we ran penske (nitgrogen filled) on our car and they rock, though very very expensive! I use bliestien coilovers on my street car, 850 rear 750 front spring rates, and my car handles well! eric

I have Koni Yellows on my car, I like them a lot. If you are on some kind of budget, get those. If I had more, I would get Showa or Spoon. The reason for this is because it was recommended to me by Mr Ichishima himself. I have seen first hand what the Showas can do, and I am a believer.

wow! mr. ichishima himself recommended his own brand??? truly amazing!
if only more people would do that?
it all depends on the type of driving your doing. is this dream suspension for a race car, a street car, or a dual use badboy?

I drove a S2000 that has a full bilstein coilover system in it. It rides so friggin smooth.

What are you looking for with these? Do you plan on doing racing? What kind? Is it going to be mostly daily or an all out track car? All this applies and will help more accuatly make you decision.

my friend has progress full coilovers on his integra. SUPER nice suspension. well composed over bumps, and nice and tight around apexs. good enough to keep a civic planted at 180+MPH!! http://www.progressauto.com/

I have tried a few setups on my DA including Circuit spec KYB, Tein HA, and Ohlins... I stuck with the ohlins setup. It is by far the most confidence inspiring setup. This is on a street car that sees frequent lapping days.
Would love to try ZEAL, havent had the chance yet... Ohlins it is then.

If anyone's interested, there's a Group Buy on groupbuycenter.com for Progress coilovers right now. It's going on through the end of August and if I can work up the green, i'm joining. Later.

Does anyone know who sells Ohlins ?
Do they have a web site ?
