hi everyone, i desperately need some help.
i'm trying to adjust my ground controls.
i've loosened the bolt screw in the perch seat with the allen wrench. i know it's completely lose cuz i took out the bolt screw completely. then i used the spanner wrench to move the perch, but instead of just the perch moving, the threaded sleeve and spring also move with it!!!!
am i doing something wrong, or could they have been installed wrong to cause this?
i tried holding down the threaded sleeve while moving the perch w/the spanner wrench but the sleeve will still move with the perch
please help me out. i have the car up on the jack right now and really want to get this done today.
here are pics of the install (i had a shop install it)
anyway, all help is greatly appreciated:

Is it just this one or all of them? It should spin on the collar with ease. It sounds like it's the perch is sitting ontop of the threads/corssthreaded. Grab a big ol' pair of channel locks/pipewrench and hold the collar nice and good but without ovaling the collar or ruining the threads, then give the perch some muscle and see if it free's it up.

thanks guys for the comments.
the car is a 2003 honda accord ex-v6 coupe. the car is just up on a jack. after talking with patrick i think i know what the problem is. in his install he put a strip of electrical tape to better hold the sleeve in place so that it wouldn't turn. i'm going to do what was suggested here and get a wrench and hold it down while i turn the perch seat
thanks so much guys for all the help it is sincerely appreciated

DON'T apply a wrench directly to the sleeve threads!!! That's why I suggested a strap wrench. It can hold super-tight without damaging the threads.
This shows what I did with the electrical tape. If you do this, you will have to use something like a strap wrench if you ever need to get the sleeve off of the shock, because it will be a VERY tight fit.

Is the car jacked up from the side? Or is the car jacked up with both front tires off of the ground? Try jacking the car up with both front or both rear tires off the ground and see if it changes anything. The spring should be loose and you should be able to spin the perch freely once loosened.

negative, I couldn't turn my perches before I put the electrical tape on there, even with the spring loose. The threads got junk on them and kept the perch from moving much at all.

thats actually a VERY important point.
are you jacking up the car one side at a time and then trying to adjust?
you must jack the whole "axle" (front/rear) instead of the side of the car becuase the swaybar will still lift the suspension up since the other side is still on the ground and has more weight on it.

hmm I seem to remember only jacking up one corner at a time to adjust my GC's, but then again it depends on how low the car is and what length the springs are. It's also been 4 years since I had them, so I dunno.
If you jack up one corner so the wheel comes off the ground, but the spring is not loose, then yeah you need to jack up the entire front or rear together.

thanks for the offer trevor!
i think i'll have to give you a call tomorrow. i jacked up the whole front of my car today, and i still can't just get the perch to move on it's own. the whole thing-spring and threaded sleeve-move with it.
i purchased a "strap wrench" and it didn't help. it was a small one that i bought from home depot for $9.
the other thing is. i know patrick did his install by placing a piece of electrical tape right above the perch seat line. but i have koni super sport which has 5 perches. i dont want to install the ground controls the highest perch cuz that would limit how low i can drop the car.
so right now i'm stuck on what to do
anyway, my name is joyce btw so you'll know who i am when i call
