I am buying a used car for my brother in law. He wants an automatic. I know the 6th Gen V6 accords are bad news bears when it comes to the transmission. Is this true of the 4 cylinder automatics as well, or are they solid transmissions?

they hold longer than the v6 but theyre sure not solid ... they last if you dont abuse them ... mine took a crap because i was smashing on it on some heavy 18" wheels ... bad idea

 

they fail pretty bad too.......do a simple search and you will see.....

 

mine crapped out after 28k, completely stock. Got it replaced and have been good to go since, now at 91k.

 

Bah. I thought Honda = reliability

 

honda's is known for reliability ... but even the best make mistakes too ... example: 6th Gen Accord Auto Trans
