1987 accord lxi can this thing be fast?
I know you guys get sick of noobs asking questions but my friend has this 2 door white lxi, it needs a fuel pump, he wants 600 for it. it is incredibly clean. most likely i will buy this car but my question is could this thing be turbocharged, or has anyone here done it? I was going to put a turbo on my 88 civic, but now I am trying to decide which car to build because one of them will have to be a daily driver. thanks
since its an 87 im guessing it has high miles, so do a compression test before you turbo it. i would recommend just getting a h22a, but i dont know if it will be crammed up since it has a 2.0 liter engine stock(a20).
if possible, just swap in the h22a. an h22a in a light car = very quick car.

Obviously by my SN I, too, have a 87 Honda Accord LX-I.. mines a hatch.
Most people swap in B series motors in these cars because of the lightness of the car and the size of the engine bay. When you think about it, the A20 stock does what.. 120 or so ft/lbs of torque whereas the B16A (first gen cable type since these have cable trannies) does 111 ft/lbs. The A20 does 110-120hp whereas the B16A (first gen) does 160hp...
Basically, what this means is, You can buy a first gen B16A for around 1000-1300 and it'll outrun the engine you have now as long as you don't mind revving it high.

check out 3geez.com. someone has a car, w/o a swap with 140 whp. thats pretty damn good for a light car like that. oh thats also NA. And an h22 will not fit without many modifications.
