i swear ive seen a few 96-00 civic hatch with Moonroof. They do NOT look like aftermarket. I know how aftermarket looks like. This actually looks like they were factory OEM. So my question is could it be that these EK hatches came from Canada since I know US Civic Hatch never had the factory option of putting in the moonroof. And I highly doubt a 50 year old lady would do a sunroof skin conversion.

 

Chopped tops from Civics that had opening roofs? That's my guess.

 

nope i dont think so. this isnt just one civic hatch that i seen that has moonroofs that looks OEM

No. We didn't get moonroofs in 6th gen hatches over here in Canada either.

 

Only way you are going to get a 96-00 Civic hatch with an OEM moonroof is overseas.

 

I know of at least 2 in oregon
Dealer installed sunroofs
Never offered straigh from hondas factory

 

IIRC, they were offered as optional through Honda Dealerships BUT..

They're aftermarket components.

Granted many you see will be installed aftermarket down the road too. Either way, they're basically the same.

There was a thread going over this recently. I posted a comparison shot of a stock moonroof to go with the other image the other person had linked to.

Not all aftermarket moonroofs will look like this, but all OEM moonroofs on a '96-'00 will look like this. This one just happens to have a moonroof visor.

This is an OEM moonroof in a 6th gen ('96-'00) Civic EX coupe. (This happens to be in a '98 EX coupe.)
