i'm about to get a boss quick release steering wheel for my eg si. am i able to keep the cruise control or is that a no no.

 

You can keep it, it will just be a little "involved". You're going to have to relocate the cruise control buttons to somewhere else (or drill into the new wheel, probably not fun). It'll take some re-wiring work, but it's only 3 or so wires which you can very likely color-match under the dashboard so you don't have to jack with the clockspring.
