Legend caliper, ex rotors pads not fitting
Im doing the acura legend caliper and shaved braket on ex rotorson my dx spindles, "Big Brake" swap just wondering has anyone else run into having to shave the pads down to get the caliper to fit on? Thankx
you shouldnt have to. isnt the ex rotors thinner than the legend rotor by a couple mm's? if anything shouldnt it be a little loose till the brakes are applied the first time?
i did as much as i could with the c-clap i had, to the point the bottom of the metal ring is flush with the base. Should it go further?

Sooooo, you're putting legend calipers and Ex rotors? How does that work? That sounds like you would have pad hanging off the rotor cause the EX rotors are DEFINITELY not big enough to accommodate those pads.
BTW, using sentences would definitely help you out. I know of quite a few people on here who would know the answer to your question but get pissed even having to read your run-on sentence and just move on.

Actually that's kinda wrong too.
If you're using legend calipers you 'CAN' use the prelude vtec rotors but you'll have to use something to space out the pads about an extra 5mm.
Or, you could just get my little setup that i bought from fastbrakes.com ( or buy from them directly ).
It's the 2 legend rotors redrilled with hub centric rings.

No no I think you guys are confused.
There is a setup, like so:

10.3" rotors and ITR calipers over stock LX (and DX) knuckles
See, 11.1" rotors go with ITR calipers...on EX knuckles. but the DX has such small brakes, that its 9.5" brakes required a different steering knuckle. The tabs are pulled in. So you CAN put the ITR calipers on a DX knuckle and they will cover a 10.3" rotor.
Modification for that setup requires milling the brackets 3.2mm and grinding the edge of the backing plate of the outer two brake pads.

i think a lot of ppl are confused, included you, and me.
you posted a pic of either a 96+ civic... this is a EF forum.
is the OP talking about "EX rotors" as in 90-91 4dr civic EX, or EK EX rotors??

Oh this is the EF forum, hehe.
Same theory applies though. The 9.5" stock brakes had on 92-00 Civics is the same as on the EF chassis. The 91 EX Civics have 10.3" brakes, same mounting tabs as Integras and other EX civics and can take the same brake upgrades. I can't comment on the CRX HF, however I believe it has the same knuckles for mounting as the DX models.

you definitely need 96 prelude rotors to use 2-piston legend calipers. You might have to get spacers also. you need to shave of a lil on the t-bracket(legend), so the brake caliper sit flush. take your time in doing this setup. Did you know you have to put the left side caliper on the right and the right side on the left. The bleeder valve needs to be up. Thats the only way to get them to bleed right. trust me its going to work. Invest in some braided lines also. post some pics so we can help you along. 15 inch rim or higher also. This setup has been done before so it works. Good luck
My homie has this setup also:

*if you ever decide to go 4x114 conversion, you don't need to shave off anything.
the rotors fits no problem and everything bolts up. I recommend you also get skunk2 front upper camber kit. This will help solve your nasty positive camber.

you need to trim the inside edge of the pad to make it fit, but not the braking surface.
here you see ex rotors with legend/itr/odysee/accord wagon calipers (on stock dx knuckles)
i did have a slight rubbing issue with the rotor and the inside of the caliper, but i blame that on a bad machinist.
i should ask... do you have dual piston legend calipers? ?? that would matter.
