I completed my 1st autoX..!!
omg what an absolute blast!! My very first run was attrocious, (a 62.5, with the fastest time of the day being 46.6....OUCH) anyways we were alloted only 3 runs as there were 270 cars.. my 1st run was 62, then my 2nd run I improved to 55, and my final run I clocked a 54, so I am pretty happy with that. I still havent come close to finding the limit of my car though!! A stock GSR did a 50.0...So I have some time to find.! I cant wait for the next event!!
cheers!
cheers!
2-7-0 cars!!!!! Holy Fock!!!!!! I can't imagine what the paddock area must have looked like. That's god damn amazing. The most I've seen was about 125-150 at Sebring or at GIR but 270 in one shot is astouding. Well welcome to your new addiction and a way to spend all your money in a short time.
How many of them were in STS/STX by the way??

You realize you are now addicted, right?
We've had 200+ drivers at atleast one of our local events. It gets crazy, and the organizers have to get real creative if they want more than 3 runs. A friend of mine was telling me about "the good ole days" when only about 50 cars would show up and they'd get 8 runs!!

Let me tell you right now...RUN!! RUUUNNNNN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Seriously...welcome to an "addiction" that we all find more and more addicting as we continue in this hobby. It's just like living out a childhood fantasy.

Fresno CA has the best auto-x for people who don't like the size of the sf or la ones for all u californians on here... i went to my first one yesterday in Atwater at a closed up air force base, the course was friggin huge, lotsa speed and lotsa fun, my first run was 1:20 and by the end of my 5th run i got a 1:09 so i was happy, most people were around the 1:00 mark but it was my first time so i didn't go crazy, no spinouts and no cones hit. There were about 50 cars with some really crazy ones, old 65 vette, old gto stang, and a datsun 240z that owned everybody, was hella fun though i went with 6 wrx's and i was the only type-r.... but yeah i'm addicted -rob(another victim of the go fast crack pipe)

Okay GS-R_Nut lets look at were the money your about to start spending will go and why:
$350-$500 Sticky Tires - Cause you just found out there IS a real difference in what some call a high performance tire.
$150-$1300 Light Weight Rims - This is kinda optional if your in STS/STX but your going to need them if your looking at R-Compound tires for Stock or SM classes.
$350-$550 Performance Shocks - OEMs just don't keep the rubber in the pavement.
$100-$1200 Sway and Strut Bars - These stiffen your chassie and help in cornering performance.
$95-$250 M/SA 2000 Helmet - Cause you just don't want to use the same helmet that smelly fat guy just used.
$50-$100 Magnetic Numbers - Well you don't want to look like a Novice and most clubs don't like the shoe polish deal anymore.
$50-$100 Chair, Beach Umbrella and Cooler - Your just going to need these no matter where you go.
$30 Racing Tire Gauge - The $1.99 Auto Zone special just isn't accurate.
$40 300psi Tire Inflator - Not every club will have an air compressor on site.
$30-$100 Shoes - Wrestling or Driving shoes just give you better feel.
And I'm sure there are many other things I can list but I don't want to scare you right off the bat, but you need to know what to start saving for.
