Cooling fan switch replacement

I need to replace the cooling fan switch, do I need to put anything on the threads or just screw it in?
also is an aftermarket just as good as oem?

Should wrap the threads in some teflon tape just to be safe it doesn't leak coolent. Not sure about OEM vs aftermarket quality with fan switches
