I saw about a year ago there was a thread which a guy showed how he restored his cracked/faded leather by applying some kind of product?

First off, leather brings the suck.
Now like was said if it's really faded and cracked then your out of luck, there's no fixing it. Try surfing some detailing forums and see if they have an recommendations.
