Default built b20 turbo...gt30r or gt35r???

Chassis is a eg h/b...I want a FAST street/freeway car that can hang w/ modded V8's and still hit good numbers on the 1/4 mile. HP goals would be about 400 for the street and about 550-600+ for the track. Here's the specs of the motor....Thanks in advance!!
JDM B20 block w/ GSR trans:
-AEBS sleeves
-84mm
-JE 10:1 comp. pistons
-Eagle Rods
-Z10 Block Girdle
-Calico Bearings
-Balanced and Blueprinted

GSR Head:
-Port / Polished and flowbenched by Import Builders
-I/B spec double valvesprings
-I/B spec valves
-Ti Retainers
-ITR cams
-Blox intake manifold

***If there were two exact cars with the exact same set-up, with the only difference being that one had a GT30R and the other with a GT35R...which car would come out the victor in these 2 situations???
-1/4 mile run??
-3rd gear pull from 40-130+ mph??

Your goal says 550-600+. The gt30 will get you to 550, the gt35 will get you to 600+. I honestly think the 30r car will be more fun to drive on the street.

Running a GT35 on an H22 in a 92 hatch. Used a GT30 for 2 years. Can hardly tell the difference in streetability between the two. Low boost 400whp - high boost 530whp. Much better top end with the GT35. Built engine 10:1 comp. Arias pistons.

keep the goal around 500whp go with the 30R, those things spool pretty damn quick on a 2.0, i had a buddy with one in a CRX, took out 1litre bikes on the FWY!!

Didnt they do a dyno comparison against them and it was almost the same except the gt series spooled up a lil faster.

the GT spooled maybe about 500rpm faster but the BW will make more HP at the same boost, but the way BW sizes its turbo is different from garrett thats all

but anyways to the op a 35R will be fun on the streets and hit your goals

It really depends upon your budget. I think that GT35Rs are nice, but would rather use the S362 with the slight smaller exhaust wheel or a GT3540S if staying Garrett. Think about repairability and use for your needs and not just "it may "spool" faster".

Never heard of Borg Warner turbo's before, but than again I am a newbie when it comes to turbo's. What makes it better than the GT30R or GT35R??? Please kindly explain.

The explanation repeats an entire thread. Please check the archives on BW turbochargers and their designs. I've posted this up more times than I care to remember. Also check with some of the people running them. You'll see them on their signatures.

I'm getting really sick of posts like this, i recall the 30r spooling faster then the s258 in the test i saw and people "claiming" the s258 would make more power up top with higher boost, well guess what, its a bigger turbo, it should! Which means for its size the 30R is the faster spooling turbo, there is no argument in saying the s258 can make more power, the 30R is rated at 500whp and it is the fastest spooling turbo that is capable of that power (and a bit more) not counting the exotic stuff like the TR30R, crazy custom hybrids, HKS versions, HTA versions, or the IHI sealed ball bearing turbo's.

I'm not talking down about BW, they make some of the best journal bearing units and i personally know there customer service and care to the end user is outstanding.

nothing, they are not better, both companies are great and make great products for the end user. this is just like the whole b16a vs GSR cylinder head BS, or the ls/vtec vs GSR debate, there is no winner there is no 1 better than the other. each one has its niche and its going to be up to the end user.

If you want a good compromise, the Borg Warner S258 may be what you're looking for. It will get you over the 550whp mark, but spool similar to the GT30r.

Yes I do have a 35r. I think its the perfect turbo for my setup, but I make 600 hp. If I could settle for a few less hp, I think the car would feel better from red light to red light with the 30r.

My setup is really similar to yours but I have 60-1 right now and I'm still deciding on 30r or 35r ? I don't go to the track often I just want a really quick fast street car.
