Default 92 vtech with a 91 si engine compatibility?

looking for a new engine. Would a 92 civic 1.6L vtech engine direct mount to a 91 civic si transmition. Looking for a vtech for my 91 civic si, direct bolt on with min to no mods. Is that possible?
Thanks

Ya the 92 V-TEC will mount tou your 91 si trans. You will have to take your drivers side motor mount from your SI mototr and put it on the 92 V-TEC motor.

If your not going obd1 make sure to swap out the injectors also

I was actually just wondering the same thing... My d16a6 engine burns oil, but the transmission is great. If I can get a cheap d16z6 engine and swap it onto the transmission that would be perfect... but wouldn't you also need to rewire the distributor and engine harness as well?

thats the reason why i as asking as well. For the amount of oild my engine goes through, the engine would alost pay for it self. And also my clutch is going. what do you mean switch to odb1?
Thanks

What you are running right now (88-91) civic/crx is obd0. The obd1 system is 92-95 civic. Ecu is different and dizzy is different. If you wanna have vtec work, you want to go to obd1. Theres a faq use it.

To go obd0 to obd1 you need the obd0-obd1 jumper harness, ecu (p28), and whatever else i'm forgetting.
