I am trying to sell a transmssion for a friend but do not know if its ls or b16 how do i tell the difference

 

it says S1 on the case and some numbers thats all i can find

 

I think the only way you're going to know is to test it next to a known ls trans. by turning the axle and counting the crank revolutions. I'd love to see if there is a chart for this like there is for the CRX transmissions.

You can use the trans calculator listed there to determine which it is, based on rpms at a fixed speed.
