Default Replacing ball joint on 93 Honda Civic

Hello Everyone,

I need some ideas and/or pointers about how to replace the lowerball joint on my 93 Honda Civic. I checked the manual and it said that a special tool was necessary to remove the ball joint. I went to a parts store/machine shop and asked if they would be able to remove it for me and they told me no. How do I take this thing out? Thanks.

There's a snap ring up top that holds it in. I usually get them out by threading a nut (not the stock castle nut though) on it and beating it out with a hammer. Installation is similar, but I hammer it in from the top using a socket.

You gotta remove the ring. I used an air hammer to get it out then hit it back in with a ball joint press.
