Just got my car back from Acura and....
my paper work doesnt seem right after reading some of your posts here on honda-tech...especially my cylinder compression. well take a look guys and tell me whats up.
Cyl 1: 165 Cyl 2: 170
Cyl 3: 180 Cyl 4: 155
So whats going on? they said the compression was fine and everything was ok...if its not what do i do? go back and tell them some of my friends online said the compression was bad? my acura dealership here can be kind of funny. snobby's more like it actually. is there anywhere i can get numbers that tell me what my compression is supposed to be?
thanks guys. any helps mucho appreciated.

If you have a Type-R (which I'm assuming you do), your compression numbers when the engines warm should yield around 220psi per cylinder.
Those numbers you're making are definitely low.

Acura dealers are a bunch of ******* retards. I've been having problems with my ITR for 7 months now. Now that it's out of warrenty they told me it's not their problem, but I was having my problem before it was out of warrenty. They would do a diagnostics test and see that I had a misfire in 3-4, but never tried to figure out why I had a misfire. They would do trial and error type shitjust to hold me over. Then a week later or sooner the CEL would come back on. I'm going to the dealer tomorrow to to talk to the Genral Manager and see if he can do something for me. If not, the ITR WILL be traded as is for something else. I think boost and AWD is in my near future.

Ive been running mobil1 10/30 since hmmm..4th oil change on it. ok, so now what do i do? how do i handle this? just call them and tell them they are wrong? is there any place i can find online that lists the stock comp. numbers for a type R? also what could be causing this? what might be broken? thanks fopr all the help so far!
Service limit is 140psi with a maximum variation of 28psi b/w the highest and lowest. According to those standards, they're ok.
How much mileage is on the engine?
I'd get a compression gauge and test it yourself. Look to Sears or Autozone for a gauge.....$20.

thanks for that info, i guess i feel a little better now, but its still strange how everyone says it should be around 210 or so? mileage is right around 55k or so. so why is it that people say it should be in the 200's?
Was the test preformed on a warm engine? Or did they just let it sit around in the lot, pull it in for service and do the test without letting it warm up to proper operating temperature? Makes a difference in the comp test #'s.

ok, so <had to change my name> say they do the check again and the numbers are still low, and since it doesnt fall under their "specs" im sure they wouldnt check to see what could be causing the low numbers. So what could be causing it and what can i do to raise the compression back up? helps appreciated here! thanks again, you've all been a great help so far!
How old is the car? If it is still under warrenty I would complain. Make them find out why the numbers are abnormally low.
