Default jdm b20b w p8r head intake mani question

Setup is simple at the moment. jdm b20b with the p8r head. I have a aftermarket manifold, not sure of the brand but its little bigger than a type r manifold. Got the car together and its very disappointing. Using a jdm r tranny with the 4.78 final. I figured this thing would move some. Is the manifold over kill for the b20 or something else wrong? By the way using a phearable.net basemap chip.

What i mean is the ls that was in the car prior felt stronger. I changed the motor and the intake manifold to this one. Was j ust wondering if it was overkill on a basically stock b20.

Then the answer is E: I don't know how well your butt is calibrated.

In all seriousness if you don't having anything objective to compare the two engines then it's hard for anyone to answer your concerns.

There was a b18a in the car prior. Basically stock with the b18a manifold on it. I swapped in a b20b, and used a manifold similar to a skunk2. It could be a skunk2. I can't find a name on it nowhere. Just wondering if that big of a manifold is simply too much for a stock b20. The car felt stronger with the ls which had a hydro ls tranny. Now using the b20 i've switched to 98 spec type r tran. Just thought i was see a pretty decent gain with the b20 and the new tranny.

u have b20b which is a lower compression to the b18b which is maybe why u dont feel it as hard plus doesnt look it tuned, have the car tuned first and not just on a basemap

yes its a b20b with the p8r head. There is a write up i believe by bambam on here that explains all the b20's. By his write up the compression is 9.2:1. I believe pretty close to a b18a which is what was in the car prior. I know i need a tune. But really is it neccessary on a stock motor? I have future plans with a vtec head, different rods and pistons, and a good tune.
