SAVE your money and buy a "REAL" header.

A "real" header that cost $1000 or more, when it only produces a little more than the knock-off. No offense but what is the benefit of buying a name when something performs the same as the real thing and way much cheaper.

In this particular argument .. Quality vs Quanity.

Sure the knock offs produce alot at one time, sure they "may" come close to the power a real one will put off but in the end.. Will it last just as long??

Resell?? ever think of that??

The knock hytech's aren't even really knock offs.. they look like it, the welds, the tubing and lengths are all different.. I own a "real" Big tube hytech header.. i can honestly say that a knock off is no where NEAR the quality of this header...
Thats just 1 part..
Then you got SMSP and Bisimoto who then customly make headers for YOUR setup.. a off the self header such as the knock off header wont compete or stay in the same power range as a header built for your motor..

Go knock off.. i dont care.. When you hit a big "thing" in the road and it rips your welds right off your header.. your going to be saying man.. i gotta buy another knock off thats another 350 down the drain..

if that happens he could always buy another one and still have $350 in his pocket....

i see alot of bashing on these headers, but ive used them a few times and they work damn well....of course a header designed for a certain application will outperform it, but not everyone has an unlimited budget..... what would be better..spending $1000+ on just a header or spreading that out and getting a header, cams, valvetain, intake etc...

What about buying a "real" header and putting it on a stock B16A? Would that make sense?

One could also buy all his parts from ebay, cams, springs, valves, pistons, rods and exhaust and save a lot of money. People save money every day by not replacing rocker arms with new cams...........

Just a FYI answer to what benefits are there in buying a real header. I can't speak for the few other companies that actually prototype and test headers versus those who just copy others, but just for example we build some 17 different B series headers deoending on them being vtecs from 1.6L to 2.2L or non vtec B18/B20s or 4-1s versus 4-2-1s. One good thing about having so many B series headers is that the companies that do copy original stuff don't have a clue why there are differences in design.

Whats funny is that you import guys will actually PAY $1000+ for a header.

We spend what $700 on Kooks and we get two.

Just because they do the job, doesn't mean they'll last.

Just because it costs more doesn't mean its better.

Seriously. I have lurked the All Motor threads for a while because quite frankly I find some of you guy's numbers moderately impressive. The one thing that I can never understand is how you justify the cost of a $1000 header. It's no different from the Supra guys paying $10k for a built bottom end. If you will pay it, they will charge you it.

Supra's dont really need bottom's built.. its a iron block lmao..

in any case.. I didn't "pay" 1000 for my hytech.. i got it new yes.. but I knew the guy.. he was getting out of the game..
If your patience.. and just search Deals come up, a name brand header comes up, **** they got a Full exhaust system and a hytech header for sale in the all motor forum for 1200 bucks.. thats a STEAL.. The header makes power.. i didn't even Tune my car for this header yet.. I slapped it on, and went from getting strolled by a 400whp integra, to Running neck and neck threw the 1/4 mile with it..

Before he was walking me by 3rd gear, and i had ITBS and a "knock off Sparks header"..
