Default 1994 Honda Accord Ex 4dr

f22b1 head gasket blew, head is warped. What is there to do to put an H22 head on it, and which h22 vtec head do i need? my engine right now has vtec, its basically fully loaded, but ive heard h22 heads fit but you have to do alot. ive looked around for about 2 hours now looking for a forum discussing this matter and....nope cant find one

help a honda owner out please

oh and dont be a dick and say "get a full swap and stop whining" because seriously if anyone has been paying attention to the economy right now...were all [freak]ed, im out of a job right now and money is extremly tight and im trying to get this car running so i can get on the road and find some money flow

If money is that tight at the moment and you just want to get it back on the road why not just replace the head with another B1 head. An F22B1 head would probably only cost you $100-150 tops. That and finding a good condition H22 may be harder than you thought. Although there is one for sale for $300 + shipping here on H-T if you do a search it will come up.

But if you already have access to one. There is a write up in the Accord FAQ's in the swap section for a DIY H22 to F22B2 swap. I would have to assume that everything would be the same except that you would already have the VTEC wired to your ECU.

yeah i saw that one, i wasnt sure if it was going to make a difference or not. oh and im only 17, im in college that my highschool is putting me through for free, and for the last week ive been bumming rides to school so it doesnt really matter when the car is running and i love, i mean like LOVE doing things myself...but this morning my parents took the decision into their own hands and brought it to the local shop and they started ordering and taking the engine apart so i really have no choice now but my dad said that the guys charging $800-1200 to shave the head, clean it out, replaces all the gaskets...overall it wouldve been a lot of work for me and my dad said that if i could find an entire engine for less than 1200 thats running perfect then we could call it off buuuut i couldnt so oh well
