im not getting any compression! help please
hey i just took my head off to check my valves and when i put my head back on to set the timing, im not getting any compression. the bottom crank is set right with #1 pistion up but what about the camshaft? the (up) on the cam is at its 12 o-clock position. im not sure is the camshaft is to be a certain way... help!
When you installed the timing belt:
1) Was the pointer on the block perfectly aligned with the TDC mark on the crankshaft gear?
and simultaneously
2) on the camshaft gear, was the arrow pointing straight up and were the side TDC marks aligned with the top of the head?

yeah its is all tdc. ive been at it for 2days strait. timing belt off, timing belt off. just the same thing. you know when you turn the crank manualy, you hear compression in the engine, but now when i turn it, i dont get any.
Is the engine flooded? Check the engine oil for the smell of gasoline.
Did you adjust the valve clearance? Perhaps your setting are way off.
