intermidiate half shaft

ok im doing a b18 swap on my honda civic hatch i have a hydraulic tranny and both halfshaft......my question is whats an intemidiate halfshaft

so do i still need the hallf shaft for my swap its gonna go to a hatchback and which half shaft should i get year wise thans
