Default Replacing Manual Transmission cable on 1991 Honda Civic

My 1991 Honda Civic got stuck in first gear. I have isolated the problem to a frayed end on the top gear shifter cable at the transmission connection. My question is: How do you replace it? I've taken both ends loose and there's some play, but no way to get it out, either way. Please advise me. Thank you. Steve

there a little slot on the clutch arm where u can feed the cable through. loosen the cable all the way with the adjuster so u can take it out of the bracket. sometimes it can be alittle pain so u might have to convince it alittle
