Default please explain to a potential newbie looking in swaps

i got this from the top. can somebody pls explain to me what the last 3 below the cons mean?

D series swaps
These are fairly inexpensive and come in a variety of Civics. IMHO, these are the easiest swaps to drop in. I also don't want to hear a bunch of whining about the opinions on power levels. Of course there are going to be some exceptions to the rule.

Pros
Inexpensive
Decent potential (200 whp or so on stock internals)
OEM parts are cheap
More than enough for most people
The best D series come with ~130 hp tops
Optional factory LSD in the JDM D15B

Cons
Not as much potential as some other motors
Transmission not geared for accelleration
Don't respond to bolt ons well
Only way to get real power out of them is FI

The D Series has a very long transmisson, which means it doesn't pull very hard.

Bolt ons don't provide much power gains on D series engines.

The only way to make a lot of power from them is Forced Induction, such as a turbo or supercharger.

thank you so much, you explained it so well.

no wonder the tranny i'm having right now doesn't pull hard, and can't hang long in high acceleration.

Yup...if you're looking into a B series swap at all, look into a B16 or GSR tranny. They're geared rather short, and pull very hard.

Which transmission is it? The EX/Si isn't too bad, but like they said, its still longer than some of the B series ones.
