Default Viper 5900 remote start.

Hi,

I have a tough time picking out which alarm to get. Right now looking at either Viper 5900 and Viper 5002.

I know the 5900 has remote start but I don't plan to use that function. The main thing why I am leaning towards it because of the longer range.

So does anyone know which wires/color are for the remote start that I can skip in the installation? Is it just to skip the relay satellite relay and all the wires for it?

I've been comparing the two installation manual http://www.directeddealers.com...t.pdf and http://www.directeddealers.com...t.pdf

Thanks in advance.

You skip the remote start install from the start. De-pin the all the wires from the remote start ribbon except the yellow wire and use the yellow wire for the ignition input. Use the orange ground while armed wire to control a relay to kill the cars main relay for a good effective kill switch. You want to kill the ground wire of the main relay. make sure that you add a dei 520t back up battery to the alarm and a mini siren hidden in the dash.

Thanks for your reply.

For the remote start ribbon do you mean I should just hookup the single yellow wire to ignition output and do not need to use the relay satellite?

Also to simply the install can I depin these wires as they aren't needed?
H1 Red/White (optional trunk pop)
H1 Violet - Door trigger +
H1 White/Blue - activation input
H3 Black/White - neutral safety input
H3 Violet/White - Tachometer

For the extras I already have plan to get backup battery and piezo siren.

As far as the sensor I was looking at proximity and tilt sensor. Do you think those are good choices?
