Default LsVtec (gsr head) with CTR pistons

I just recently built a high c/r LsVtec with PCT pistons..i just wanted to get some input on whether ma stock rods and fasteners for the bottom end and gsr head bolts are going to hold together ..any feedback is greatly appreciated..thanks

you know how to build a lsvtec but you cant answer your own question it is always a good idea to upgrade rod bolts and headstuds thats just common sense

i do plan on upgrading to arp fasteners...but i had to put it together quickly for a race...this coming weekend...

i just buld a lsvtec. ls bottom end and pr4 pistons on stock rods the crank was turnd and acl bearings.b16 head and a grand total of 450$ in all i use a pr4 ecu that i chiped and coveted it to a p28 and tuned.it only put down 153 to the wheels it turnd out just fine i put it in a del sol and ran 14.2 in the quarter. i have pland to put 450 injectors and retune with spray

No i mean.. stupid build..
Like its dumb to build this motor with CTR pistons read up on some searching.. you obviously have no idea.

Running good..tuning done with crome..pumping 110 through the veins of this beast...lots of top end!!

By top end I hope you mean 7500rpms...
Not trying to flame, but really, that's one thing you should not have skimped on. And I'm guessing you got a good deal on those pistons...P73-00 pistons wouldve been a better choice...

yeah I'm working on getting some rod bolts, as i've been told bout heavier ctr pistons..and how ls rods don't like that too much.

Yup..haven't takin it to 8k yet...still waiting for rods and arp bolts to come in..hopefully by this weekend i should have head studs too...

Slapped a motor together for a race? Waste of time, money, effort... period. Even with ARP rod bolts and head studs im scared to turn over 7500 in an LS/VTEC without a VTEC oil pump. Bet you dont have one of those either.
