I recently got a 92 civic si, and there is a yellow/amber light in the side panel of the rear seat area. If you were sitting in the rear seat behind the driver, your left armrest area. What is the purpose of this? I never noticed it until someone asked me what it was for.

where are you seeing light through a side panel? do you have holes in it? or through the speaker grill?

and if its at night you're probably seeing your break lights, if someone removed the little cover on the back it would appear somewhat bright.
