Is the Exedy oem replacement clutch boost worthy?
I'm doing a little revamping on my dd stock 1993 Civic Si and I'm going to be replacing the clutch with an Exedy oem replacement. The thought of doing a cheap, low boost (6-7 psi) on this car intrigues me.
Anyone have any experience with boosting on this clutch? I was reading somewhere that the Exedy oem replacement clutch has a little bit more torque capacity then the stock one, is this true? I'd prefer to stick with the oem replacement over the stage 1 organic. I had the stage 1 organic on my gsr and the pedal was a little too stiff for my dd driving habits, but I managed.
Anyone ever use the Exedy oem replacement clutch with boost?

No it is not. Thats why its an oem replacement. It will not last at all and you'll find yourself pulling the tranny and doing another clutch job. Look at competition clutch...
I used the Exedy 2 for a few years at 300+ whp and it worked nicely. It feels like stock and holds plenty of power. When i pulled it out this past winter, it looked damn near new (after 21k miles and several track days)

Similar w/ my exedy stage II Part#8950B. 60K and 6 road race events. It was starting to slip because I had increased torque over 20% of its capacity. But WONDERful nonetheless

Well, I know the clutch isn't junk, I was just wondering if it could hold any kind of boost. I guess I'll have to go with a stage 1 or 2 if I really want to boost my car.

I put one in my old EG hatch and put almost 200 passes on it on slicks with many 11 second passes with a 1.60 60ft best. Very good clutch for the money but was right at it's limit when launching hard on slicks.
