Default look at this tubro

Check this out. So i got a turbo from my friend, I think its a T3. I really dunno. I want to put it in my car. But i dont know that much when it comes to boosting a car. Im trying to keep my power streering and A/C so im guessing i need a Log Manifold. but do i need alot of adjustments to this turbo? i was told i can adjust the turbo, clocking it or something. will this be a good set up? im trying to make 250-300whp. Not Spoll to fast and some what top end. should i keep the T3 or go smaller? and also i heard i should do a Rebuild Kit b4 i boost my car. is that a good idea?

If you don't want it to spool fast and want more top end then don't get a smaller turbo, and this one will be fine for 250+ whp

well do you have a d16? what engine do you have? you need a log manifold and custom make a downpipe to accomadate the ac. i wouldn't reccomend rebuilding the turbo yourself because you need to know what your doing.

I think a t/3-t/4 turbo on 8 pounds would be nice

if you don't know too much info for it don't bother. I say that for a few reasons:

-if you go to have it rebuilt you'll need to know what turbo/trim it is and what car it came off of

-with as old/beatup as it looks are you sure it even works properly??

if you want a turbo that lags but has more top end go with like a t3/t4 B with smaller trim and ARs ....on a d series it shouldn't start to spool till around 4K.

Personally though I love my supercharger like powerband using a small greddy 15G. (starts to sppol @ around 2800ish or so, 5 psi by 3400ish, full boost...13 PSI.... by 4100ish)

You need to check out the Forced Induction forum.

Onto the turbo...the one you have pictured looks like it had been sitting out in the mud for the past 2 years. I wouldn't imagine it being overly reliable. Also, that's a small Nissan turbo presumably from an SR20 meaning its a T2 variant. It should start running out of breath around then 240-250whp range. If you're seriously considering a turbo setup, research first and find out what you need rather than just compiling a bunch of garbage and hoping it works. You can read the FI FAQ at the top of the Forced Induction forum...that will be a great resource and starting place for you. If you have any questions, post them up in FI and you'll get a ton of knowledgeable responses...
