New honda owner.....
Just purchase a 1991 honda accord for my daughter. The car has 220,000 miles on it. Has a few quirks like the gas lid no springing open, the shifter locking in park, and the transmission not shifting into D4 once in a blue moon, but other than that is runs and drives great and the a/c blows great. Lots of leaks on the engine which I guess is expected. My question is what additives or treatments are good for high mileage motors to help prolong the life. I only paid $1000 for the car so if the motor goes, so does the car. Thanks for the feedback.

Sounds like a pretty good first car for your daughter.
Here, you will not find much help with the "stop leaks" lol
Most people here are the DIY kinda people. If it leaks it needs to be fixed. bottom line.
I have NEVER used any of the stop leaks, Id bet they do more harm than good. Maybe not, Who knows. I know Im not putting that gunk in my car though.
High Mileage motors dont need anything extra, TLC is it and maintence on the regular and your car should run for 300.XXX
With a little more info on the car we can be more helpfull.
----year-----trim-----engine-----auto/5speed (Im sure yours is a auto)---- ect..d
(You gave the year though)
