I'm new to the Type-R scene... just bought a '99 Civic Si with a JDM B18C swap. I'm looking to buy a good quality header for it; I found a Mugen/Jasma one for sale, but first wanted to get an idea of what a fair price for one would be. Thanks in advance!
Buy a Toda.
Jasma
JDM 4-1 if on budget
Toda if looking to spend some extra cash
HyTech or SMSP if you have deep pockets.
Edit: This is more of a Hybrid forum based question for future reference.
We are all about being nice and accomodating around here now right.

I agree with Jon, Toda is the best off the shelf header to date. Check all of the top header performance tests etc, Toda is top 3 everytime. This includes when it was put against custom headers: SMSP, Hytech, etc.
My alternative would be an OEM JDM 98' Spec header. Cheaper, and a great factory header.

thanks for the advice fellas. its a 98-spec swap, and the OEM JDM header is currently on there. the guy I bought the car from told me that the OEM header is very respectable and tough to beat unless you go with something top-shelf.

He is absolutely correct and to be honest i would not touch your set-up
. When the time comes however that you want some extra HP then at least you'll have your 4-1 to sell to make some $ to put towards something better.

yeah, he receommended leaving the header and the intake manifold alone, saying that its difficult to improve much on either one. maybe I'll keep everything OEM and just wait til I come across something thats a real steal.

Not a bad idea at all. To be honest i think you would be disappointed with any other bolt on modifications than what you already have unless you are going to spend some serious coin. There is no reason to ever touch your IM in my opinion. Not unless you are going crazy all motor or turbo.
What exhaust is on the car?

Without those questions answered, not much more can come of this.
