Default S362 vs GT35R???

Well I have searched and found alot of great info but I havent got that confirmation that I was looking for so I will continue from what I found.

The S362 w/divided turbine housing would make about 30-40whp more than a GT35R but how would these turbos compare in spool characteristics? and what trim would be better for fast spool yet still produce 670-680whp?

is the S362 you have in mind ETT or non-ETT.

but i would say the 35R spools quicker because of the exhaust wheel size. but if you have a power goal in mind pick a turbo that gets you what you want. 500rpms is not going to kill you to wait on

"trim" means nothing. It is a calculation. 670-680whp, "spool" is not even a concern. The turbo will be large, regardless, in a smaller sub 3 litre engine. deal with it.

The rest is on preference and budget

oh sorry, I meant s362 with ETT ofcourse.

Well since I have to replace my turbo I might as well try to find something a little better even if it is 500 rpms sooner spool. Where would we be if we didnt at least try to better ourselves. Anyways thanks for the response I think Ill go with the S362 on this one.

Default ad some more info

Hi man hope this help you some

This its a evo 8 with all the basic boltones with a s362 ETT t3 0.70 open scroll housing.
This turbos are about 400-500 "laggier" tha the 0.82 t3 35r the transient responce are a little worst to but nothing to worried about and also give about 20-40 hp more at hight boost than the 35r

"low" boost dyno

I'd still rather have 14psi of boost and spank the monkey off on Evo 9 that's running 25psi any day of the week. Ah.. the joy of cylinder head efficiency.

Nice way to go off topic people...
Now back to the post ACTION JACTION look info regarding to the PT 62/62 with the billet comp wheel its a super fast spooling turbo like the 35r and far superior on high boost.
I will test the s362 very soon with the Non ETT and with ...( 1 week) let you know the results since I have use a 35r sc61 ( similar turbos)etc I can get a direct comparition.
Cheers.

Well, that's good. Thank you for jump-starting an initiative of comparison. Though with the billet wheels that PTE and FP are making (in the same facility) I'm sure cost of replacement and use will still be a factor. At over 400 bucks additional for the compressor wheel, I'm rather leary of whether or not the costs outweigh the benefits.

But on the S362 there are choices in the turbine wheel from STC to make up for it

how about physical dimensions? gt35r similar in size to a s362?

I have a built h22 looking for 450-500hp. My manifold will fit a gt35r ...so will a s362 fit in there?

The 7" S362 (in the S200 cover) will fit in the same area as the GT35R. I'd use the v-band .70 A/R, for the better exhaust wheel. But, you can use the .55A/R if you're only going for 550. That houses a p-trim exhaust wheel.

Hey ImportRev, I just noticed your signature. You have a custom turbo that is Ball bearing AND ETT? Can you tell me more about that turbo? How is the spool characteristics on that turbo and how much power is it good for? Is it an S366 compressor wheel with Ball Bearing CHRA?
