Default 98 V6 problem

i jus bought a 98 v6 4dr accord from girls sis, well here goes teh problem

1 if want to floor it or accelarate it more to pick up it chokes, and the rpm goes down and the car dont goes nowhere, but if i give it gas like normal drivin it drives fine, what can the cause of this be?

2 when i go to pump gas i constantly gotta pump gas into it, like if the gas tank was to be full but it isnt, what can i do bout that?

i had a 90 and 93 accord, i love them and originally i was goin to buy anotha 90-93 accord but i decided to take this one off her hands, plz help me out, thank u, also i gotta change the spark plugs will that have any cause with any of the problem?

not sure what your saying, but it sounds like the typical 6th gen tranny problem.

the tranny was checked by mechanic. and by auto zone n they said it was good

my boy told me the tps sensor also, what u mean what cel are stored? i dont know what that means

if your engine is running that bad, the CEL (check engine light) should be on and a scanner can read the codes from it......

yes the cel is on, and it read that it has misfire, i know the owner b4 my girls sis said he had bosch spark plugs in there, im actually going today to buy ngk spark plugs hopefully that can be the problem

Going to be the Bosch plugs never put those on Hondas. My dad did that on his 98 accord V6 and within a month the plug was black and hesitation was all over the place. (that was at 100k) changed them with NGK's from the dealer and now the car has 175k with no hesitation. Good luck with the car

well i change the spark plugs, and when my boy pulled the 1st it was an iridium plug so im like wtf i thought the guy said bosch, so he pulled the others out and they were all bosch with that 2 things at the end, and they were all black but the 1st plug, i also change the wires and went with ngk, the car came with obx wires real thick 1 wire was the size of 2 ngk wires, well i drove it fine i couldnt push it cuz there was traffic but ill find out tomorrow if that was it , also the check engine lite was reset, so we see what happen

LaCura, yeah those OBX wires are horrible lucky he took those off with ripping them and leaving the metal tip with the sparkplug. I had those too, trust me that was your problem let me know when you take it out for a good ride.

k well after gettin the spark plugs n wires change i continue to have the same problem, i thought it mite be teh speed sensor, but i think im wrong, check this out, im drivin normal then i hit a bump or dip, then i try floor it the car chokes so what i did was drop it in neutral, turned it off then turned it back on and i pushed it and it was fine till i hit the next bump then it went back again, so i did the samething again, also i thre it in neutral and gave it gas and it didnt want to go ova 4000 rpm, anybody has any suggestions?

the only codes it read was the misfiring code but i am goin back tomorrow cuz i unplug the tps while the car was runnung and the check engine lite cane back on, if it reads different ill let u guys kno

k i went to the mechanic today with the car, and they plugged it in and it read that i need the #2 clutch pressure switch, i hope thats right lol, well i called the dealer and it cost $70 but i had no time to pick it up today or any otha day so now i decided to sell the car, i like the car but unfortunate to say i got no time for it, i also got my teg that i gotta wire up and i been tryin to for 2 month, but if anybody in the NY area intrested jus hit me up, if i get the chance to go to a honda dealer i will buy the part n replace it

i would check the 2nd clutch psi switch before replacing could be a transmission issue coming on.

u are the man lolol i went sat and the diagnois said 2ND CLUTCH PRESSURE SWITCH i got the print out and everything lol, $70bucks from honda ,but i neva got the chance to get it i sold the car today

thanks for ur help guys but i sold the car, i didnt have time for the car, the car need a few things which i woulda have to gone to the dealer and junk yard to get and i neva had time for it, so i sold it, but thanks alot, i think ima try to get a 4cyl accord instead
