Honda CRV -- dead battery, doors won't open even manually!
Hi everybody-- I've been borrowing a friend's CR-V for a couple of weeks and left the lights on overnight... this morning, surprise, dead honda...
Obviously the remote unlock won't work but neither will the keys themselves! I have two keys my friend gave me and neither one works in either the passenger or driver's side doors, or the hatchback. This makes no sense to me, and I'm all out of ideas... Do the doors need battery power to open??? If they do, what can I do?
Not sure of the year but I think its > 2003. Any help very much appreciated.

Could have the issue of bad tumblers in the locks and they need a rebuild.
Or they replaced the ignition assembly at one point and didn't re-key the doors?

If you can find a positive lead at the bottom (i've gone through the starter and alternator on separate occasions) hook a lead to that and ground the other side on the chasis, it will be enough for you to unlock the car and properly charge the battery. Just don't accidentally ground the positive, fuses get expensive.
Unless you have the valet key (grey base) the keys shouldn't have a problem working if the battery were dead.
