Manual transmission drain
So i recently got a 1992 Honda Accord LX and was giving it a full tune up when i got to the transmission. should i change the filter? i drained it and thought i was going to have a problem since its a square wrench that i'd need but the end of my socket wrench worked fine. However if i would have looked a little higher at the fill plug i would have noticed that whoever last had it stripped it. are my only options to take off the passenger tire and some suspension parts then tap and drill it out or does anyone have any other ideas that might work better?
no filter to change on the transmission.
what exactly is stripped? the threads of the fill plug, the head of the fill plug or the threads where the fill plug goes in the transmission housing?
I wouldn't be drilling and tapping the transmission housing without someway of knowing I can get all the metal bits out of the trans first.

if it's the head of the bolt then you don't need to drill anything.
get a bolt/nut extractor of the correct size from sears, I've used them a couple of times on rounded nuts/bolts and they have worked good.
they look like this...

and like TheMuffinMan said, remove the wheel to get make sure you get at the bolt at a good angle.

your able to get to the drain plug with a socket wrench by removing the passenger tire? also do you know if you can still put in a quart of Lucas brand transmission fluid in with the 10-w30 oil that is recommended for the transmission?
Just buy Honda OEM manual transmission fluid, only about $5 or $6 a quart.
I don't know the capacity of the '92 but most likely around 3 quarts.
