Default Painting on clear??

hey guys I have 93 accord winter car and its alittle fade and i already did some minor dent and rust repair. now i just wanna get a quick not too cheap clear coat put on. I dont have a compressor or paint gun and don't wanna buy all that for one quick job. If I bought a gallon of clear coat, can I use one of those sponge type paint bruches used for clear coating furniture and applying the clear on my car??? If so do I still have to add hardner and thin it out???

No sir you cannot do that..

Just spraying clear would not fix the problem..

If you want a sprayable clear you can get it in a can at most autoparts stores

If you want to do a LOT of sanding and buffing go right ahead. Why would you not have to add hardener?

The same way a table or furniture is cleared. When i see nice glossy table tops that has clear painted on it, it lsmooth, even and looks real good. So i figured it'd be the same if I did it on a car, one panel at a time. Its not big deal I'm not gonna do it I was just wondering if its possible or if anyone did it. If I had an extra body panel I would give it a try just to see but I don't have one.

I don't know. Is it necessary or is it just added protection for the car? I never painted a car so I don't know all the correct mixture of paint/thinner or clear/hardner, etc. etc.
