Im gonna get the rota gt3s 15 inches. Should I get 195/40/15? or is 40 too thin? opinions? car is ek hatchback

Edit: Well I went with everyones opinion and got 205/50/15.. Still getting used to the bulky look.. check out the pictures on bottom of page 1 and page 2

so wider and thicker? does anyone have a picture of what it would look like or what a rim with tires should look like?

 

With a 40 series tire your going to have one rough ride, plus if you hit a bit enough pot hole your rim could crack or bend. Is your car lowered at all?

 

I think tirerack shows pics of tires on your car..

 

how about 205/45/15? or 195/45/15? does width matter when it comes to traction? im thinking of falken ziex...

 

Sorry its its not a Hatch and non of them are GT3's but they are all 205/50/15's...

 

i had 195/50/15 on my ek. good for slamming

if you enter your current tire size you can compare it to the size you are thinking about getting. Try to keep the same overall diameter so it does not effect what your speedometer is reading.

We use that one all the time over on the del Sol forum I'm on. Rather than telling people what I think, I post the link so they can see it for themselves.

 

Depends on the engine and the amount of horsepower. If low power, go w/ 195-50-15 and if high power go w/ 205-50-15.

 

go with 205/50/15

 

205/50/15 is what I've always used. Go with a 40 series if you're going to slam it though.

 

dont forget to keep in mind what offset you are running.

I have 205/50/15. They look kind of chunky but they protect the wheels really well and the ride is good.

 

i had 205 50 15 and they rubbed my cars dumped tho and now i have 195 50 15 with no rubbing issues heres some pics not a hatch but

 

Why not just go with 195/55/15? IMO overall ride quality is a little better.

overall diameter/sidewall height/wheel size... the best size tire for balanced performance/treadwear is 205/50/15 for a 15" wheel ... Falken azenis rt615's... about 85$ per tire...the only thing i like better is bfg kdw ta but theyre 45/per tire more...

 

Alright guys heres the update.. Im starting to regret the tire size though.. its pretty bulky looking.. I dont know if thats appealing to most people but for me its not.. oh well.. here it is the old and the new

You'll get used to it. 205/50 is the way to go.
