Default TRANSMISSION/CLUTCH?

I was driving one day and then suddenly my car jerked very hard and next thing i knew i heard a loud clinging noise like something is bouncing around.I am thinking it was the spring off the clutch disc but I honestly dont know. My car was having problems before hand where it was very hard to get into gear sometimes and would also get stuck. Now after what had happened, my second gear doesnt do anything.By this i mean it just revs up and my car doesnt move. Also I cannot get into 5th gear and it is still hard to get into gear though the car does drive, but with the clingy noise. I really need some info on this ASAP if whether this is dealing with the clutch or tranny or maybe both?

best resolution, pull your tranny and find out. if you see nothing wrong with your clutch/pressure plate or throwout bearing open up your tranny. If you have no idea how to do that, take it to someone who does.
